Rats!

Deputies scurry to assist Animal Control with a trailer load of rats.

On arrival, they find “hundreds of rats in wooden and glass cages” on a utility trailer sitting in a front yard. Several of the rats are dead, presumably due to the heat.

About 20 minutes later, a man comes out of the residence and moves the trailer, rats and all, to the back of the house.

Authorities “made contact with the man and asked him why he had all the rats,” the report stated. “He stated that he got them from a friend, who was unable to care for them.”

He said he got the rats home about 4:30 a.m. and his alarm failed to wake him.

Whatever I’m doing, it’s legal!

A deputy investigating a report of suspicious vehicles becomes more suspicious when another vehicle arrives and acts suspiciously.

Deputies are out with the first suspicious vehicle when a truck rolls up and sits in the street rather than going around.

“Lt. Ashman asked the driver what was going on,” the deputy wrote. “The driver … stated, ‘I’m just driving around on non-county maintained roads.’ ”

The first deputy recalls that he arrested the man for driving with a suspended license two weeks earlier. The man said he was told he could drive a four-wheeler on non-county maintained roads, “and he figured it applied to vehicles also.”

It did not.

“Lt. Ashman asked the driver what was going on,” the deputy wrote. “

Marilyn Monroe no sub for dolphin-shaped pipe

A fight erupts over pizza leftovers.

A man, upset that his girlfriend’s friend ate his leftover pizza, punches the refrigerator and demands the return of the “dolphin-shaped pipe” he previously gave his girlfriend.

The woman declined, saying it was a gift, and instead “removed a Marilyn Monroe picture from the wall and told him he could have that gift back if he wanted it.”

The man stomped the picture, breaking the glass, and in the ensuing scuffle the woman cut her arm. The man is arrested for battery.
