BCSO public information officer Ruth Sasser said a warrant has been issued for Matthew Timothy Bennett, 27, for failing to register as a sex offender. He is believed to be in the St. Andrews area.

Sasser said Bennett drives a black Dodge Dakota mini-truck with a Michigan tag, AEL 8094. Anyone with information about Bennett can call the Sheriff’s Office at 747-4700 or CrimeStoppers at 785-TIPS.

In an unrelated case, investigators are looking for Travis Sinclair Thomas, 29, of Thomaston, Ga. He also goes by the name “Polo.” Thomas is wanted on charges of robbery by snatching, burglary and grand theft.

Suspect cleared

Bay County sheriff’s deputies were told by a man that someone, or some thing, stole the $100 cover off his 17-foot boat.

He says his wife “heard a noise around 3 a.m. but thought it was squirrels.”

The search for thieves now extends to a work crew near the house that day.
