‘Burglar’ runs up $150 in adult calls

Deputies responded to a call of a burglary on Beach Drive on Friday afternoon and were met by a 73-year-old woman who claimed someone broke into her home and made $150 in adult entertainment phone calls, according to a Bay County Sheriff’s Office report.

Nothing was missing and no evidence of forced entry could be found, the report said.

It was determined the last time the calls were placed was on June 13, when the woman’s husband “was at the residence by himself,” the report said.

The deputy asked the woman if it was possible her husband made the calls, and she said “he was too old” to make such calls, the report said.

In reviewing the telephone bills, it was determined the woman “didn’t report any other calls other than when her husband was in town,” the report said.

The woman was given a case number and told to contact the Sheriff’s Office if obtained any new information on this case. The case was inactivated pending new leads.
