Deputies responded to a call of a stalking Friday evening and were met by a 23-year-old Springfield woman who said an acquaintance of her boyfriend had been following her.

According to a Bay County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the 47-year-old man had made a habit of calling and dropping by her home when her boyfriend was out. The man also dropped by when the woman was at a Panama City bar with girlfriends.

Earlier in the week, the man came over to the woman’s home with a gift: a pair of pink panties. “This scared her,” the report said.

The woman’s boyfriend knew where the man lives and deputies made contact with him, informing him he is to stay away from the woman and instructing him not to attempt to contact her.
