Bay Crime Watch ~ Keeping track of criminal activity in Bay County

A no money back guarantee

May 20th, 2009, 9:17 am · 1 Comment · posted by Brady Calhoun

A Panama City woman pre-paid $42.38 for 20 gallons of gas at a local convenience store but the woman only needed $25.37 worth of fuel. When she went back into the store to get her change the clerk told her he couldn’t refund the money because a manager wasn’t around, Bay County Sheriff’s deputies wrote in an incident report. The manager was not around the next day either when the woman again tried to get her change. Deputies told her that if she could not successfully contact the manager to get her change she would have to sue the store because no crime had been committed. The manager was supposed to be working the next day, starting at 4 a.m. but it was unclear from the report if the woman ever got her money back.

And if the woman had had less money then she would have been arrested and her license taken away. Doesnt sound fair now that the tables have turned and its not considered a crime if they dont give her back her money? wow!

And she will have to pay so much money to take them to court too.
