On Sept. 17, investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft of property complaint near the Dogwood Lakes Community. The victim reported that an industrial type air compressor was stolen from the front porch area of the residence.

The victim then provided a VHS surveillance tape of the theft in progress, which was obtained from an outside surveillance camera. The suspects could be seen loading the air compressor into the back of a pickup truck and then leaving the property. The suspects were readily identified by investigators from previous cases.

About 15 minutes later, the stolen air compressor was recovered, and within 30 minutes of the report both suspects were arrested.

Edward “Eddie” Peacock, 34, of Bonifay was found hiding inside a bedroom closet of the residence where the stolen property was found. Peacock was placed under arrest for burglary of a structure and grand theft, as well as an outstanding felony warrant for felon in possession of a firearm.

Donald H. Dixon, 48, also of Bonifay was located driving the suspect vehicle a short distance away. A traffic stop was conducted where Dixon was also arrested for principle to burglary of a structure and grand theft. Both Peacock and Dixon were transported to the Holmes County Jail and await their first appearance in court.
