Bay Crime Watch ~ Keeping track of criminal activity in Bay County

That pressure point behind your ear

May 9th, 2008, 9:20 am · Post a Comment · posted by Brady Calhoun

A Bay County Sheriff’s deputy and an obstinate juvenile had a stand-off involving pressure points and arm take-downs this week.

When a deputy arrived at a care facility this week he was greeted by a shout of, “He’s running!”

The deputy chased the juvenile into a bathroom where the kid turned and confronted him. While writing about what happened next the deputy appeared to be inspired by Robert B. Parker.

“He (the juvenile) shoved both hands in his pockets and took a step forward in an aggressive manner,” the deputy wrote. “He also had an angry blank stare on his face.”

The deputy attempted to arrest the juvenile but the kid did not cooperate.  The deputy then attempted to use a pressure point behind the suspect’s ear.

“He smiled and stated, ‘Is that supposed to hurt?’” the deputy wrote. The deputy then used a modified arm take-down and put the suspect on the bathroom floor. The suspect then decided to comply and was handcuffed. He was charged with battery.
