Bay Crime Watch ~ Keeping track of criminal activity in Bay County

Destined for Civil Court

April 16th, 2008, 9:10 am · 2 Comments · posted by Brady Calhoun

A deputy sheriff wrote that an ongoing dispute between neighbors is destined for civil court.

The Bay County deputy was called to Panama City home where the alleged victim said he had numerous problems with his neighbors. The victim said the neighbors left a doll hanging in his backyard. A note attached to the doll called the man a “convicted felon and clown.” Another sign left for the man read, “smile you may be on video.”

Recently, the man was sitting inside his house and thought something was on fire outside, according to the incident report. He went outside to find three spotlights aimed at his home. The man also said that one of his neighbors attempted to run over his dog while he was taking it for a walk. After the near miss the neighbor parked, popped open a beer and smiled, the victim said.

Deputies noted that they had been called to the area previously by the neighbors complaining about the victim.

The deputy on scene summed the situation up this way, “At the time of this report it appears no criminal activity occurred from either side but the dispute needs to be documented because it’s destined to be settled in civil court if it continues on the current course.”
