The Blotter is intended to show that there is more to policing than many realize and is based on reports from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
Dec. 6:
A deputy had a brief but intense encounter with a dog while investigating drug use in Panama City.
The deputy knocked on a door to ask about a report of teenagers doing drugs in the area. When the homeowner opened her door, four small dogs ran onto the porch. One of them bit the deputy on the back of the leg.
“Oh, they won’t bother you,” the woman said.
The deputy informed her that one of the dogs had already struck.
“Oh, that was probably Paco, he’s like that sometimes,” the woman replied.
The deputy dislodged Paco and the dogs scurried away. However, the woman was not sure when the dogs last had a rabies shot.

Dec. 6:
Deputies arrested an 18-year-old for disturbing the peace.
The Panama City Beach teen was attempting to remove a vehicle that was stuck in the sand. Deputies say they ordered the teen to leave the vehicle and return home twice because it was early in the morning, he was making a lot of noise, and he was intoxicated.
On the third trip to the location, deputies decided that they, and the neighbors, had had enough and they arrested the teen.

Dec. 6:
A woman got into a verbal argument with a security guard at a gated community when the guard informed her that guests cannot bring pets into the upscale neighborhood.
The woman made a U-turn to drive out of the community but hit several light poles on her way out. The security guard said she did not believe the woman did it on purpose but stated that the accident was caused because the woman’s truck was so big and she was angry.

Dec. 6:
A Panama City Beach woman reported that someone entered her condo and stole T-shirts, a dress shirt, a sweater and a set of night clothing.
There was no sign of forced entry into the condo, according to a police.

Dec. 6:
Somebody forgot what Jesus would do.
Two Panama City Beach brothers came home from work and shared an 18-pack of beer.
They also starting swapping thoughts on religion and the discussion turned into a heated argument.
One tried to choke the other over the matter and the victim told deputies he wanted his brother arrested for battery. The assailant was arrested and charged.
